Hi, guys! I was invited by a friend of mine to join this group (on Facebook) called "350.org Brunei". It's a group that aims to raise awareness to people all around the world by coming up with solutions to tackle climate crisis that the world is experiencing today. Afiq (350.org Brunei President & Representative) said:

350.org is an international campaign dedicated to building a movement to unite the world around solutions to the climate crisis--the solutions that justice demand.

Our mission is to inspire the world to rise to the challenge of the climate crisis--to create a new sense of urgency and of possibility for our planet.

Our focus is on the number 350--as in parts per million, the level scientists have identified as the safe upper limit for CO2 in our atmosphere. We are currently beyond 380ppm and rising!

But 350 is more than a number--it's a symbol of where we need to head as a planet.

To tackle climate change we need to move quickly, and we need to act in unison--and 2009 will be an absolutely crucial year. This December, world leaders will meet in Copenhagen, Denmark to craft a new global treaty on cutting emissions. The problem is, the treaty currently on the table doesn't meet the severity of the climate crisis--it doesn't pass the 350 test.

In order to unite the public, media, and our political leaders behind the 350 goal, we're harnessing the power of the internet to coordinate a planetary day of action on October 24, 2009.

We hope to have actions at hundreds of iconic places around the world - from the Taj Mahal to the Great Barrier Reef to your community - and clear message to world leaders: the solutions to climate change must be equitable, they must be grounded in science, and they must meet the scale of the crisis.

I've mentioned my talented friend, Reza, a couple of times here. And at last, he has finished his final project! It's a love story between friends... The ending is up for discussion, so it's up to you how you would like to interpret it. A beautiful piece, I must say. Very nice location, good camera angles, awesome soundtrack and a well-written script. And, of course, I've got to say the actors in this film were very impressive! And the props, especially the book Zara was reading, is so cool... maybe 'cos it's mine! Hahahaha... (Sorry, Rez! I just had to mention it. Bangga ku eh ada buku ku sana, hahaha...)

Congratulations, Rez! I'm so proud of you! :)))

Anyhow, to help the future of these Gaza children, charity event will be organize by "Abdul Khaliq Jr." aka "Khaliq Roziman".
In Facebook, Khaliq stated, "im doing this for a reason, 15% of the payment will go to the charity. Helping our Muslim borthers & sisters in Palestine. 3 shots for $2, isnt that cheap enough?hehe...anyway, im not going to develop those pictures taken during the photoshoot session, just be ready with your pendrive. "

Let me do the math here: 3photoshoots $2 hence 30cents to charity... which is also 1 photo equals 10cent to charity... WITHHHHH Pahala.... plus insyaallah syurga yang mengalir air dibawahnya.

Hey, guys! The person I'm going to showcase today is my good friend, Reza, who has shown and improved so much talent since the 5 years (?) that I've known him. Some of you might know him and some of you probably don't.

He was one of those Bruneian "rappers" back in the Too Phat days, lol! Personally, I wasn't a fan of any of the rappers back then. (I was way too cool for that, haha! Just kidding! :p) But if I could pick any Bruneian who possess the coolest (if not uniquest) talent, it would definitely have to be Reza.

I've known him since our IB years in ISB and we've been great friends ever since. I'd have to say he's the best male friend I've had. Everytime we meet, all we talk about endlessly is music, videos, movies, music, music and music. Sometimes I'd ask him to do a cover of all these songs that he could rap to, not just hip-hop/R&B that he usually does, but indie music and pop as well. And sometimes, Noni (my twinsister), Reza and I would come up with all these stories that we would dream of making one day (he would be the director of photography since he has a passion of video-making), and Noni and I would be the directors or screenwriters. Haha... Big dreams we have. ;p

But anyway, back in IB, Reza's video-making has become a big part of our IB lives. He'd make all these funny videos and even contributed to make videos for the last day of our assembly. His skills have definitely improved big time ever since he started to do some media thing as a degree course overseas in the UK.

Hi, Ady! I love you! Hehehe...

Anyway, I'm sure you guys have heard of the Polar Girls, right? These two ladies (Miss Dk. Era and Miss Dk. Era) will be making a trip to Oslo, Norway, to participate in the Commonwealth Antarctic Expedition as representatives of Brunei. Well, I don't know them personally... In fact, I've never heard of them until people have been making such a big fuss about it with all these fundraising events I keep reading about which were held by the Polar Girls themselves. They have raised from $4000 to $9000 in just 2 days which is really amazing...

Speaking of which, I've read some comments on how some people thought it was ridiculous that the Polar Girls have organized several events in order for the public to give donations for their trip. Many have criticized them, saying that they would rather donate their "hard-earned" money on more deserving people (e.g. anak yatim, people in poverty, etc.) than giving their money freely to sponsor the Polar Girls' trip to Oslo... Honestly, this kind of attitude is very... disturbing. I'm not saying that you should choose your own charity, but I seriously think that's not the right attitude or excuse not to give donate your money to the girls. Easier said than done, huh?

These 2 young girls have made an EFFORT to put Brunei in the map. I don't think it's an opportunity that many Bruneians can afford. It's the effort that counts. :) I only hope that the next generation will be able to witness what these 2 girls are trying to set an example for themselves and their country, so we could follow their footsteps. :)

But in a more happy note, on behalf of S.O.B., we would like to say good luck and all the best to the Polar Girls and everyone else who are trying to make a positive difference for their country.

Everybody heard of the conflict between Gaza Strip and Israel. As a nobody who live in a small country what am I supposed to do... I dont wana be the noise without action while the other part of the world are not just bleeding but dying! Lack of blood, lack of medication and even the dead does not rest in peace.

Dear friends, we share the world with the people around us, are we just gonna sit down and watch, what if you were the one being bombed, what if you or your family members are the one written in the Lukh Mahfuz to be one of the victim how would you feel…

I am going to take out few points from a website im reading at the moment:

The Palestinian health ministry in Gaza has told the BBC that 1,193 people have been killed, including 410 children and 108 women since the conflict began on 27 December.

There were 5,300 people wounded, including 1,600 children, the ministry said.

Gaza City: One of the leaders of Hamas's military wing, Abu Zakaria al-Jamal, was KILLED in an overnight raid.

3. Finally, the BEST part of my holiday hangging with my ghetto friends, the guy yang ujung sekali is a good brother of mine Ryu, he's a rasta who escaped from Japan ran away from his high class family (who own luxurious car company).
We n the rest of his frens came all the way to Khaosan Road to see him n the his new street life. He hates Japan because of the past one child policy and high technologies which depletes the ozone layer.. He wants freedom and simple lifestyle! The girl in blue who did my dread is his wife.. They live happily in a small house with a lot of DVDs and drum, they earn their own cash by doing dread and collect gem stones! and make unique necklace & bangles. Before 12am u all can see their products outside MBK, after midnite till dawn catch them at Khaosan Road, if sapa kan ke Bangkok kirim kan barang for them!! Miss them already!

I cudnt say much but, - they should have join the Asian spinning competition August last year!
They have similar potential..
The only difference is that the Finalist Top 10 Djs 2007, scratch n edit beat spontaneously, create someting new out of the loops;
while the ones here match the beat, more of advance mixing and automation technique, by using CD turntables & PC-based Djing.

What i love most that night is "ONE" reggaeton mixed with light afro-beat?? WHO was that??? it was beyond the ordinary..

Sorry for the late update, a lot has been waiting for this,
Brunei Djs performed at KK would have been more happening if people knew bout it earlier as people need to take leave permission in advance.

On our 2nd day in KK we were surprised to see flyers concerning the Brunei dj posted on cars with promotion and map of spurrs. Bangga jua kali meliat advert org Brunei kana lakat2 di krita in KK (not in Brunei).

A night before the gig at spurrs we had a chance to sit n chitchat with the crew, toast were made by the djs for the big event, dj G-papa also said that he’d give away his demo. Mana? heheh

On the night of the event, we cud have come earlier if we did not have to wait for our new fren.. betebiat.. heheh janji melayu, so we left without her, andy was spinnin' when we entered the club, musicccc was awesome!! I get to shake..from the time I arrived till the time I left… Oh the lightings were depressing - too bright!! Bet the dj pun paning!

Its good to find out people we know were there. Ramai jua orang Brunei turun…

Thursday, 25th July 2008. I went to RTB to catch the final Anti-Dadah choir competiton for primary school. SR Kiarong won the competition and was taught/ instructed by Ak Amilin.

SMSAB which previously won 2nd place during the Secondary school's Anti- Drugs also came to perform. I remember attending the rehearsal at SMSAB earlier this year, Abang Yudy and his frens instructed the choir group. Hence if there is any1 or any school looking for choir or nasyid instructor just holler me.

The modern band is slapped with the return of Sunbees Revival (the vetrans), they are the first few people who brought music to brunei, so orang band modern no matter rockers kah, underground band kah, grunge type or any genre.. salute these people!.. durang ani could be your aunt, your uncle, your parents or watever without them there wudnt be any entertainment in the 1970s.. hehhe u might say durang orang tua or watever but hey... imagine the life back then.. in the 70's payah cari music store.. or musical instruments..

March 15, 2008, I had FUN!!!!!!! We arrived at the arab-families’ in KB around 9pm; Upon arrival we were welcomed by Mr shaikhalid, himself and Mr kurapak & his crew, then waves and hi from other bloggers/photobloggers.

Apart from humongous steak, Arab delicacies, karaoke competition and costume competition, I enjoyed the conversations with bloggers. We also toured the huge crib, thanks Rara. I also get to bump into the bling-bling sisters, waves* and Thumbs up Cici for the superb drum performance.

March 13, 2008, National Patriotic Song Choir Competition was organized in conjunction with the 24th Brunei Darussalam National Day celebration.

Top - Maktab Sains - 79 %
2nd place - Sayyidina Abu Bakar Secondary School - 77.83%
3rd place - SOAS College - 75.17 %

Congratulations to the choir instructors especially, my brother & friends. The voice arrangement was amazing! Too bad I only get to catch the rehearsal.

March 10, 2008. Cipta Exhibition was held at Intitut Teknology Brunei, selected ITB final year projects were requested for display. Previous winners of cipta also get to display their products.

Cipta Competition is open to public, those who get 85% above will bring home $10,000 and pretigious trophy! Entry forms available at ITB admin.

As i was busy demonstrating our final year project, i dont get to snap pictures, anyhow; Thanks to:

ASEAN Youth Extemporaneous Speaking Competition

Thursday 28th February 2008, i had the chance to watch the rehearsal of impromptu speaking, in one of the speech.. a preety young lady, 24 from phillipines, confessed that - she took drugs because of two reasons 1. internal sources i.e. lonely and 2. due to influence of friends!

The participants were:-
Jonathan - Brunei
Ngan - Vietnam
Su - Myanmmar
Mani - Cambodia
Afdililah - Singapore
Jordan - Phillipines
Iko - Indonesia
Vishnu - Malaysia
Tong- Thailand

One of the participants works in rehab, another in anti-narcotics, two of them are ex-drug addict and Jonathan from brunei is a student from Institute of Medicine.

Friday Feb 29, didn't get to watch the competition, sources said Jonathan won first place, Jordan runner-up and Su 2nd runner-up! Steady Brunei!

Sat Nite March 1, we took the girls out, crusin' around kiulap,gdg and bandar, thank god there was a softball prize presentation in Bandar Seri Begawan - they set up beautiful firecrackers which broke bandar's silence!

Rushed home!! burnt the track!! Runnn in d hope the final edition will go alrite!!

At the studio dad requested Mr. technician to balance the intro but he said its not possible because its the master track, i dont dare to interupt much though i suggested or said "try splitting the track". Two against one, so there goes the silence!
But as soon as we got home i gave it a try, it WORKED!!! wrote dad a copy, he's satisfied :) anyhow we'll have to wait for further approval.

Last year, the song you or other bruneians heard on the Sir Muda Omar Ali Saifuddien Field on national day had/was my final touch! Hundreds of people were performing on the beat that I edited and burnt. Notice that every rehearsal feb 2007, the grand finale has different length or duration. Because I had to edit it every night, till it match your move..

WANNA KNOW HOW IT WORKED '07?
1. Each team rehearses to d original song (unedited version) at various halls or schools.
2. Teams from different locations gather at actual location (padang).
3. Here, combination of movement and music is monitored, to ensure the steps meet the tempo. (Observation made by professionals.)
4. Yes, of course changes need to be made. Changes made will also need trial. (Now this is where my role is, edit what’s possible)
5. Edited version 1 played and rehearsed by (you) performers again. Error observed.
6. Second edition made & Implemented.
7. Revised (2 to 3 times or 4 or more) till perfecto and burn few copies.

Completion of music will be labeled as FINAL EDITION.

Note: The unedited version is arranged/collected and reinvented by a young MALE local artist and several songs collected are composed by the veterans while I ONLY do the final edition, so DON’T call it my song.

Let’s work it out together, YOU do your move, Insyaallah I will do my part. That’s what I call teamwork.

UBD's Institute of Medicine in collaboration with PhuturePhase Productions and RTB collaborated to organize yesterday’s event which was centered around the theme “Reach Out Touch a Heart”. The purpose was to raise awareness to the public about children with autism.

Performances were made by local artists like Putri Norizah, Faiz, Fakhrul Razi and others and magic shows by JPCC Club. Everything was quite colourful and lively. Music wise, the songs stressed on having a better place to live, having a place where people care.

The most touching and the one performance that really evoked pity from the audience was the poem recited by two of SMARTER’s autistic children: “Please Don’t Shut Me Out Just Because I Have Autism.” The line “I’m afraid to look you in the eye, I know it’s rude, but it hurts a lot.” That really stole people’s hearts. It really opened up everybody’s eyes. Last night also showed that the people of Brunei aren’t that self-indulgent. Most of the seats that were sold were the $50 worth type of seating.

This event, this show, this charity concert really raised awareness; I did not even know there was that much autistic people in Brunei. Overall it was fun. The audience responded well to the cause and this event illustrated those autistic children are not really those fragile but still they need our help.

Saturday, 22nd December 2007. Im a newbie at the GBN (Girly Bloggers Night Out), I thought that i'll be meeting strangers. It turned out that I already know some people, Nyna, Dewi, Tina, Maurina and Ani. Here’s a little bit about the ladies:

Nonie, a teacher from KB who sleeps without pillow.. when I arrived she was eating already, not much, hmm just a spoon or two of choco dip hahah.

Deena lady in black who came in group with Lisa and few others. The first person who broke my notebook's virginity.

Fin slim tall lady. She's a sprinter and can run in heels, and works in BSP.

Izzati, very petite and cute.. works in RBA, 5 years in UK on private scholar.

Rina H, its rina H not rinah.. heard that a couple of times... the youngest girl. I love her complexion.

Jamilla chinese itb girl, i just knew that she's my schoolmate from Chung Hwa to Itb, love her necklace, we talked about ppl that i know in her department and bout our background in chung hwa.

Nezz, very tall, she just got back from masters if im not mistaken.. was it HR or business, sorry I forgot.

Tina, met her once at CB, she's my partner in tiding up the tulip choco fondue haha.. slurps. Tiding up as in... we were finishing them up.. want some banana? *wink*

Nyna, used to go to high school with her, I remember that she's big fan of radja.

Amie heidi, was suppose to meet her earlier during the money collection, text her a couple of times, rupanya mobile nya betutup. Didn’t get to ask what happen tho.

Dewi, the first time I met this Brunei Times journalist was at a cousin's wed.
hahahha here we meet again! she sat beside me at RTB b4 and last night, she sat right beside me again enjoying the dinner.

Ani, aka Dj Honey.. AHIR DATANG!! inda ampit lamb? hahah played handball with her before, txt her to read my dedications several times.

Intan & Fidah Abu Daniel... sisters of Emma, they smoke like 24-7 haha, hey thats my view dolls. haha cheers.

15th December 2007, was suppose to go to a local hotel in Jerudong, invitation by the BEST lead guitarist in Brunei. This guy is famous for "playin guitar with his teeth". Since, i've watched him play before during the battle of the band and some other gigs...

Instead, i headed my way to a cafe in gadong, next to Kuminis :) to watch the Odium Treason, a local band, which consists of:
-Kamal Fahmi (frontman), Drums
-Jon, Bass Guitars
-Is, 1st Guitars
(The band has not yet found any full vocalist.)
That night, they invited a friend, Hadi, a sessionist to fill in the vocals at the moment.

I also had the chance to interview the drummer, Ak Kamal Fahmi Pg Hj Suhaimi, 21.

Q1: Who's the band's idol?
A1: Each band member has their own influences. Our idols may not be the same, but we're heading into one unique genre because of it. Bands that influence our music ranges from Trivium, Metallica, Kill Switch Engaged, Soulfly and many others.

Q2: Why do you play drum and tell us how u you got into playing drum.
A2: I like beats thats why i venture into drumming. Plus it's really fun, you should try it yourself hehehe. Plus, i'm a lefthanded so it's hard for me to play other instruments. I've concentrated into playing drums a long time ago, I think it was since primary school. How I got into playing drums? I just like to beat sticks hehehe.

Q3: Did u find it easy to learn to play drum at first.
A3: It wasn't easy at first because there were many challenges ahead, but i managed to progress. I played different genres but some other musicians complained that my tempo was too fast. So i learned to control my tempo and other techniques of drumming.

Hari keluarga PDP Hj Abu Bakar bin Jambul bin Ludin was held on sunday 9th december 2007. This year is the third grand gathering and this year's theme "Acara Keugamaan". Various competitions were held such as sajak, mari bercerita for children, recitation of surah al-fatihah, azan subuh but the grand competition held on the event was nasyid.

Thinking of a good title, but i couldn't, for the reason that I'm about to write few subjects in one post. It's a habit, try my personal blog. I'm bad with arranging words.

I had two Saturdays of Party in a row, last week was Qyah's at the new hotel in Kiulap and Last night was my sister's at the Polo Club. Happy Birthday darlings!

Polo Club 17/11/2007
We invited in a Bruneian artist, Mr. K, to surprise my sister, he have a very very fantastic voice, i could not stop praising his voice, and even when we arrived home, i still couldn't stop talking bout his show. His voice was ummphh.

Conversation Back at home:

Me: Ma chua tah the guy (Mr. K) jadi penyanyi
Mum: Andang ia penyanyi, he would be at the stage if he isn't~
Me: *OUCH* Bukan catu, i mean like a real- real singer, with album and fans
Mum: Hmm...
~Fully understood that hmm means no one wud buy the album, ask me y, it's a common issue - rock on kuminis, cd kusung 50c yeah \m/

OH..The BEST part of the night was "THE DRAG QUEEN" mum ordered her to have fun with the boys/gentlemen heheh... in a way memeriahkan the party! hahah thanks mum. Everybody danced with her. She/ He the drag queen even did a lap dance to abang nafi ahahha. Then karaoke again, then back to her final dance - the strip show, hindustan style.

At the same night same place fortunately, we get to catch a glimpse of Senandung Muhibah Rtm-Rtb on screen for a minute or two? that was before the channel was switch to karaoke. AND after our party, we get to catch them live! Ngam jua time kmi abis function bis dorang Zahid was having dinner in the ball room (Zahid from Akademi Fantasia) My sister, Izza is a BIG fan of his.. We took some pics with him and senior afro heheh alleycat "orang lama atu mahal tu". Now this is where i get to use the 4 words "original, classic, antique, unique". Hahah *censored*

We didn't get an early announcement of the senandung muhibah, except for the banner on our way to polo, i wonder how many people attended the show? was it worth?

Calling the locals -.. collection tani memanggil Jay-z ke brunei hehe bah Usher tah, eh bah T-pain? da dream? Yes dream on! Oh speaking of these n*gga reminds me of A*l*y*at hahahhah. im not insulting anybody am i? Cuba tah panggil Erykah Badu- come one!!!!

I think i should appoint somebody to censor my thoughts. Siapa baik? Ms Azzuri bisai kali - dulu ia janji kan embed music rah blog lama yang expired ah! haha

Underdog Comparison. Brunei punya Show Vs. Singapore punya Show

Now since I have the part of the info, lets compare:

Both events in Jerudong Ampitheater (Bintang RTB) and Singapore (Let's take Imran Ajmain’s show as an example, underdog singaporean singer) offered free entrance, but why is there more vacant seats in Jerudong? Is it because of the fewer population or less attraction? Years back Ampitheater would be occupied i.e. during Whitney’s show (Whitney Houston, nda heran la)

Singapore - Imran's Show complete with back-up singers and check out Dj Altimet behind him. I was there.. Amazing!

“Zouk is of course incomparable to wherever here”. If you agree to the statement, tell me why. I don’t quite agree actually b/c we have …… oh my~ im runnin outta word, what do we have? I wonder why Brunei doesn’t have entertainment house? Do we? Or is it that I don’t explore much?

Zouk - Dj Championship - i had a FREE entrance hahhahah let me emphasize that a gain FREEE hahha. I took this short video.

On the other hand, somewhere in July the keramaian/ celebration in Tutong had fully-occupied seats, hence, it’s quite fair if Maria (local aritst) is to be compared with Imran, as I could see fans of Maria in statistics are equivalent to fans of Imran (Singaporean). It is quite an improvement there for the young Bruneian artist. In terms of age, I could say Maria is younger than Imran so is her fans. In short, the youngsters are very supportive.

Tutong, Brunei D - Fathan feat Maria

But if we are to compare Fathan (Local Gent) who has more or less the same age with Imran, hmm I have to say Imran has far much fan. I couldn’t have any exact answer, up to curiosity:
A. Cud it be due to Bruneians of Fathan’s age doesn’t have the time to support?
B. Or they don’t adore the music he composed? If they don’t why is that?

We need these critical thought to built up our fellow BruneianSS (not just Fathan). Let’s have this website as a source of information to the unanswered quest. Help me figga.

P/S: I’m neither fan of imran ajmain (Singapore) nor maria nor fathan but I must day if their songs are played I could easily reckon them. And yes I am the no.1 fan of Lauryn Hill.

Sunday Nov 4 2007, It's cool nowadays that there's such competition, where every school is invited to compete, i wanted to drop by in the semi-finals but could make it.

Dad (HJ MANAF HJ KAMIS) as the judge of the competition, was the one who informed me about this competition from his words me imagine the band macam marching band (arah ceta drumline), but when i get to catch them at RTB! it SURPRISED MEEE!!!! ROCKASS i mean Rockers tia bahagian education brunei ani... it's a good thing!! Ada Mr. EE Ah Ming heheh cheers yo!

Shooting Day 1

Aqasha my youngest brother, age six.

September, i get the experience to be the sound woman, a.k.a. music playback-er? Hari raya shootings were held at our place. Among those who performed were my lil bro age of 6 Aqasha, my elder bro Abang Yudy, his friend Adi Rani, my cousin Aziz and few other ladies. it wasn't so bad. My sister, Widad jadi Personal assistant and make-up artist, my younger sister, Eza tukang prepare food for the crew cheh! heheh me myself as i said jadi music play-backer bah *mulo eh* "music bebeh". haha Kami did the recording for two days saja. cool pulang, but honestly quality isnt there yet, biasalah boss aka producernya pengesian "Kesian kan camera man ah angkat sana sini the equipment so bilik tamu saja shooting, as if nada bilik lain or view luar rumah". Well if i were the producer i would be belabih aka mengarah (pengarah) not for the sake of shooting saja2 or producing asal ada... the quality that matters. Bah tunggu ja nanti if i have the chance to produce, insyaallah.

1st and 2nd Aug, I attended Hari Belia (Youth Day), this year is the 2nd anniversary for the youth; it is the day we celebrate the youth of the nation, appreciate their contribution and awards were presented by his majesty to several youth leaders. Varieties of sports and youth association were adverted in booths. One of the organizations that attract me is Basmida where ex drug addict/ dealer were treated as friends (rakan) and given chances to live a new life.

3rd Aug, I was called to be a guest radio announcer at Pilihan FM. It surprises me that I was said to have the talent and offered to join the Dj at any time, but too bad I have examination coming, had to focus on papers. Thanks for the unforgettable experience and the offer.

4th Aug, beautiful autistic children gathered at the Mall Gadong to watch non-local band in uniform ☺ it’s good to see how much they enjoyed the show, the kids were assertive that some of them come upfront clapping with the vocalist and some dance along; I love watching them and one day I will spend my time with these kids.

During Mid August, I spent most of my entertainment exposure in Singapore, I had a “free entrance” to watch the Dj Competition at Zouk, it wasn't what I expected it to be, I thought people would be in trance dancing but eventually people listen attentively to the scratch and beats, different Djs showed off diiferent musical beats. Glad that I had the chance to see the skills up close. What’s sad is that there isn’t any female Dj, the only female involved was the time director, the competitors (Djs) have limited time to prove talent. I wish I have the talent (Allah's gift) to compete wit them boys!! The competition started exactly at 10pm and the place was packed and crowded.
The other night, i watched performances by Singapore Dj from Teh Tarik Crew i.e. Dj Altimet featuring Imran and also by Singapore A Capella group. It was a free entrance show. Fans of Imran sing along with him “Seribu Tahun”.

Jerudong, Saturday 8pm, 25 August 2007, Bintang RTB was held at the Ampitheater, the show proved many talented Bruneians who can sing classic genre. Dewi won the comp and Bidit (a friend of a family friend) was the runner up, from my comment dewi won not ONLY because of her voice but for her originality and creativity. She took the risk of performing RnB genre instead of classic, she mite as well be out of the competition. What's sad is that about 75% of the seats were vacant, the rest taken by family, frens, crew and judges.

28th July first visit to Tutong, it was performances by high school students, very ramai, obviously parents,teachers and students was there or is it b/c the place is small, I’d rate it 10 outta 10 for public response. Very supportive org Tutong ani.

We've (ME n my mum) planned to go to Tutong just to watch the pentarama show held by jabatan penerangan, because last year I won empire ticket by joining the quiz, and this year I decided to try my luck again and in the end won a rice cooker, Alhamdulilah.

The show was extraordinary, the first craze that caught my attention was the colorful lightings, which made the small stage looked fashionable. I took around 80 pictures on the show itself to distinguish the striking effects by the rotation of lights. With the lightings plus the live band (at that time, playing I want to break free original by Dewa 19), made me feel like I’m somehow in an urban gig.

Performances by Maria, Faiz, Hans Anuar, lively dancers and drama “sms” by rusila were among that made me stick to my seat without a yawn!
From my view, most of the people especially teens who came were the fans of Maria. Congratulations Maria! They sang out-loud along with her, even after the show quite a number hollered her name, in the rush to take photos and autographs.

Fathan’s show was the best, he sang a mixed RnB traditional song, “Cuk Kerapang” it’s a new flavor of local song, which I think will attract listeners rapidly. The beats were simple which music lover would be able to catch up with. The little bit of “hey~” backup vocal adds essence to the stunning composition. The Dancers also performed very well in that song, not too funky not too simple, just nice for easy listening music. Love it!

Mum sang along with Faiz’s song, a joget genre while my uncle who is one of the show committee tapped his shoe - to the beat, with bit dance motion. I could state Faiz’s choice seize the senior’s attention.

To wrapped it up I conclude by emphasizing that Brunei’s traditional song is getting popular, even the time I came to watched Canang (months back) the competitions received a lot of responds, numbers of contestants has to be judged for two or three evenings for semi-finals only. The traditional songs that I’m sure loved by the youngsters are tudung dulang, matahari, cuk kerapang, Sultan Bolkiah, tipa, dang mengalai (mnc sang this years back), kampong ayer, Indung Anak, Dong Manis (Anding Dida), Joget Berkasih, Joget Berhibur, Joget Seri Kenangan and many more… Call me kampungan well hey we are Bruneians and we need to support our song!

Bintang Remaja held at jubilee, mum, Hjh Saadiah Hj Ghazali was the judge of the comp, me pun ikut jua, biasa as silent judge, sms saja mama, mana bisai, heheh congratulations to fidz and helmi!! The runner up pun steady well done!! The rest were just amazing very very very talented bravo!

It's my turn to show my talent, hahah, im being supportive ok, THE ASLI SHOW, traditional syair n puisi performance, firstly thanks to mum, aunts & uncs n my puisi group who encouraged me to join in the very last minute, i know it's a very good experience n we had a good time getting to know each other and thanks to sponsors!!!!!!!!!!

There, i get to know original bruneian, who performed syair and puisi melayu tradisi.

Well done people!! i did this for fun!

I was considered daring enufffff - pink lipstick, kebaya pengantin in pink and pink boots heheh baru malu first-time girly banar hehhehe pakai crown lagi tu... but right after the show im back to ruggedity, anyway maju melayu!

I was invited to watch band at jubilee – another lokasi of keramaian twice 22nd and 27th July 2007.

22nd I had a great time there, the seats ¼ of the seats were vacant, not bad, while the rest are family n friends. Came to support red’s bf, the 3 act tragedies! The sound system saja spoil. Speaker nya buat rock sound mcm gambus, jaditah?! :p

27th The rainy weather prevents us from watching closely, dangar dari jauh wasn’t bad, from one of the kadai soto yang waiter nya senyum2 hahah handsome lah!! Hahahha sampat gi tu, but sorry lo gua tak sempat nak talk manyak2 with him sal food is the priority! Lapar balik part-time.

Oleh kerana datang ahir me nda sempat merecord d band - yang satu ini sempat la.

Not bad, chinese kah, who is he anyway? I was watching dari jauh nun di seberang.

Mum n bang yudy performed at the padang dapan terrace hotel, they sang hanya memuji, Sambutan yang baik seats were full as this is kira malam pertama keramaian, ramai datang!!! i cant comment sal i'd be bias, hahahhah, but the dance performance bagus!

In conjunction with the Sultan’s 61st birthday numerous celebrations are hold at the Istana and padang.
At night, shows are held at the bazaar or “padang” at all the 4 districts of Brunei. I hope to watch and support orang kitani in their entertainment and business hard work at the “keramaian”.

mari tah tani give a wake up call to our fellow bruneians untuk sama2 bersatu support orang orang kitani, not to be a freak on this thing but i have attended a lot of Local functions, they are GOOD!

I've witnessed the street dance competition at Tutong, The Battle of the Band since 2000 till now, Hip-hop Concert at Pusat Belia, Concerts at Jerudong, Fashion Show Behind the Scene at a Local Hotel, Theater at UBD, Fashion Show at Scout Centre, , Dendang Asli Brunei, Choir Competition, Ciptaan Lagu-Lagu Brunei, Children's Singing and Dancing Competition (Bintang Kecil as well) and a few shows at ICC. I must say they are terrificly amazing!

These talents mesti di asuh, bilatah orang kitani kan kana pandang oleh orang luar.

Think about this, we, Bruneians watch those Koreans, Tagalog, Thai, Hindi movies even tho we don't even understand a single word they say, that is of course without the help of the subtitles. Kenapa kitani inda dapat buat what they produce? Salah siapa *cough cough* don't point any finger on anybody yet. (Could be my fault, napa inda buat sendiri hahahahha)

Secondly, remember concerts by radja, rossa, project pop, sheila on seven, gigi, West Life, Blue, Too Phat, K.R.U, V.E. .... Orang-orang kitani properly dressed to watch these concerts... wohooooo Banyak duit keluar, bali ticket n usai rambut, bali jeans baru mau jua hensem.

BUT bila org kitani perform i could say 7/10 of the seats were vacant, the rest occupied by family and friends.. inda ja? hehehhe
